On a cold morning in the Willamette Valley, the Pacific Coast Express disturbs the peace in Jefferson, Oregon. The lead motor had recently been rebuilt for Southern Pacific by Morrison Knudsen. It was one of a handful to receive Roman "SP" nose lettering in Boise. This obsolete style had debuted on first generation cab units in the 1960s.
