This is for all of the First Responders, the fire, police and ems that run towards the seat of disaster.
This is for the 343 New York City Firefighters that were lost.
This is for the 23 New York City Police Officers that were lost.
This is for the 37 Port Authority officers that were lost.
But mostly its for the rest of the 2,974 people that never saw their families again.
When I am called to duty, God,
wherever flames may rage, give me strength to save
some life whatever be it’s age, help me embrace a
little child before it’s too late or save an older
person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout and
quickly and effectively to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me,
to guard my every neighbor and protect their property
and if according to your will I have to lose my life, Please
bless with your protecting hand my families precious life.
